Free3dTutorials.com is a large resource of web and some video tutorials.  Most tutorials give an overview of a cg image and how it was made.  Few tutorials go into great detail but it is a fabulous resource for those seeking insights from cg masters.  Tutorials can be sorted by area and software and the list features a large amount of3d and 2d insights.

Perhaps one of the largest online communities of CG artists is CG Society.  Featuring an immense forum, a community of artist galleries, news page, feature articles and interviews and online store and training CG Society is a site not to be missed.  The forum is a good place to start, but if you are new make sure you search before posting as many newbie questions have already been answered.
