Avid's Softimage XSI is a highend 3d graphic software package used on many films, games, design and architectural-visualisation projects. XSI is the major competitor for 3ds Max and Maya and has a very loyal fan base. Like it's competitors it features customizability and extensibility via a number of scripting languages. It has a reputation as straightforward package to learn with a great deal of depth and features.
